Rape case registered against Contractual Employee of Mbmc, who is also accused of Iphone Investment Scam
Mira Bhayandar : Kishor Khedkar, a contractual employee working in the Transport Department of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) since 18 years, and his female partner have been accused of scamming a total of 22 victims to the tune of around ₹50 lakhs through an investment scheme.
According to the complaint filed at the Bhayandar Police Station, the accused purchased numerous iPhones worth lakhs from a Croma store at Bhayandar (w) via personal loan on documents belonging to various victims. As per information received from sources some victims are the contractual employee of Mbmc itself while some are the relatives of them who invested on their trust.
One of the employee of Croma store also claims that he has also been scammed by the accused. He has also written a complaint at Bhayandar Police Station regarding the same.
The victims were promised higher returns on their investment and were assured by the accused that he will pay the EMIs regularly. The accused sold the purchased iPhones at a discounted price to a mobile shop in Mira Road and gave the cash to the victims, asking them to invest in a Patpedhi , promising a 10% return on investment.
To gain the trust of victims, the accused initially paid the EMIs of the IPhone regularly. Later, the accused asked the victims to invest more amount, promising the same returns. The victims obliged, but soon discovered that they had been scammed when the accused stopped paying the EMIs and began making excuses.
The victims has filed a written complaint with the Bhayandar Police Station after realizing they had been cheated. The police are currently investigating the matter. FIR is yet to be registered.
Female partner registered Rape case
The female partner of the accused khedkar, who met him on a municipal transport bus, had left her job and started working with him as a partner. The accused introduced her to his colleagues and she use to lure them to invest into scheme, said a complainant. However, after the victims began filing complaints with the local police station, she registered a rape case against Khedkar, alleging that he had an unconsensual sexual relationship with her multiple times at various lodges and hotels.
Sources revealed that Khedkar had attempted suicide by consuming poison a few weeks ago and was hospitalized at temba hospital. Sources said, He has been absent from work since 15 days, and the MBMC has issued a notice to the contractor regarding his absence. However, the corporation is yet to be officially informed about the rape case against Khedkar.
