MBMC Cracks Down on Unverified Contractual Employees
The Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has issued a stern warning to its department heads to retrench contract employees who have not submitted their character verification certificates. Despite earlier circulars, some contract employees remain unverified, prompting the deputy municipal commissioner to take action.
As of August 1, 2024, contract employees without verified character certificates will be terminated, and department heads must submit a report to the concerned department. The MBMC emphasizes that department heads will be held responsible for the salaries of unverified contract employees who continue to work.
This move aims to ensure the integrity and accountability of contract employees working in various MBMC departments. The corporation had earlier informed department and account heads about the necessity of character verification, but some employees remain unverified.
The MBMC's decisive action underscores its commitment to transparency and responsible governance. Department heads are now on notice to comply with the directive and ensure that only verified contract employees continue to work.
