Central Crime Unit Nabs Notorious Criminal for Defying Externment Orders
The Central Crime Unit attached to the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar (MBVV) police have successfully nabbed a notorious criminal Shivprasad Kushal Shetty, a resident of Bhayandar East, for entering into the city in violation of his externment orders.
A total of 08 cases have already been registered against him at Navghar, Miraroad, Uttan and Nayanagar Police Station for defrauding people and causing injury to non-repayment of defrauded amount and atrocity to woman during consecutive years 2011 to 2023. Despite being arrested in the various crimes, his criminal attitude has not changed.
Due to his anti-social act, the threat to the life and property of the society and the citizens living in the surrounding area cannot be denied. Accordingly he was externed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) from the limits of Thane, Palghar, Mumbai City, and Mumbai Suburbs of for two years on 09th April 2024.
On August 13, 2024, the Central Crime Unit's patrolling team found Shetty standing outside the Silver Cloud Hotel in Bhayandar East, despite his externment orders. He was immediately detained and found to have returned to the locality without obtaining necessary permissions.
Consequently, a case has been registered against Shetty at Navghar Police Station under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951. The authorities' swift action serves as a reminder of their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
